Abstract
El objetivo de la presente investigación consiste en estudiar las medidas de protección de mercancías en el tráfico marítimo en Colombia, con base en autores
como: (Ricart 2017), (Martín A. X., 2017), (Cárdenas, 2017) y entidades como la (Organización Marítima Internacional, 2012) y la Dirección General Marítima y
Portuaria (DIMAR, 2020). La problemática reside en que, a pesar de existir mecanismos de protección para el bienestar de la mercancía durante el transporte
internacional de carga, tanto las empresas como el Estado colombiano no promueven el uso ni la implementación de estos recursos ya que buscan en determinadas circunstancias reducir gastos. El enfoque de la investigación es de carácter cuantitativo de tipo documental, descriptivo y exploratorio con un diseño
bibliográfico. Se diseñó una guía práctica de fácil interpretación en la cual se describen las medidas de protección para la mercancía que se deben tomar para la
disminución u ocurrencia de un accidente en el tráfico marítimo, involucrando procesos normativos, logísticos y operarios, también se pudo concluir que, es
responsabilidad de las Sociedades Portuarias Regionales de Colombia velar por la integridad de la carga antes y durante su transporte, a fin de evitar siniestros
marítimos que puedan incurrir en pérdidas y la contaminación del medio marino.

Abstract
The objective of this research is to study the protection measures for goods in maritime traffic in Colombia, based on authors such as: (Ricart 2017), (Martín AX, 2017), (Cárdenas, 2017) and entities such as the (International Maritime Organization, 2012) and the General Maritime and Port Directorate (DIMAR, 2020). The problem lies in the fact that, despite the existence of protection mechanisms for the welfare of merchandise during international freight transport, both companies and the Colombian State do not promote the use or implementation of these resources since they seek, in certain circumstances, to reduce expenses. The research approach is quantitative, documentary, descriptive and exploratory with a bibliographic design. A practical guide of easy interpretation was started in which the protection measures for the merchandise that must be taken for the reduction or measures of an accident in maritime traffic were described, involving regulatory, logistical and operational processes, it was also possible to conclude that, It is the responsibility of the Regional Port Companies of Colombia to ensure the integrity of the cargo before and during its transport, in order to avoid maritime accidents that
may incur losses and contamination of the marine environment.
