Abstract
Despierta gran interés tanto en los estudiantes como en los docentes conocer el origen y
desarrollo de la instrumentación quirúrgica a nivel local, reparando cada detalle que ha sucedido
a través de la historia de la profesión y conociendo como era la formación de quienes iniciaron a
laborar como Instrumentadores quirúrgicos en el municipio de Valledupar. Haciendo un
reconocimiento a dichas personas, que han colaborado en el desarrollo de esta investigación. El
objetivo de esta investigación es conocer el desarrollo histórico de la instrumentación quirúrgica
en la ciudad de Valledupar. El diseño metodológico se realizó por medio de una entrevista
“fenomenológica” enfocada en la explicación de relatos de vida. Esta investigación es de tipo
cualitativa, descriptiva con un enfoque en relato de vida. La población objeto de estudio son
aquellas personas que hacen parte del recorrido histórico de la Instrumentación Quirúrgica a
nivel de la ciudad de Valledupar que deseen compartir sus experiencias de vida para ser contadas
en esta investigación. La muestra para este estudio está compuesta por doce auxiliares de
enfermería, de las cuales, cuatro fallecieron, y de esas 8, solo 4 pudieron realizar la entrevista.
Entre los resultados obtenidos se evidencian que la carrera no es tan antigua como se puede
llegar a pensar pues ya en los 90s, la profesión estaba siendo ejercida por las distintas personas
que hacen parte del área de la salud. Y el ejercicio de la instrumentación en ese tiempo, ayudó de
sobre manera a forjarla y fortalecerla para lo que es hoy en día por los conocimientos brindados
gracias a la experiencia de quienes llevaban mucho más tiempo en esta labor. Entre los datos
obtenidos encontramos que el protocolo empleado es el mismo con algunas modificaciones y así
mismo las técnicas de asepsia y antisepsia. Obtuvimos datos relevantes que generan interés en la
comunidad estudiantil y en el personal que conforma el equipo quirúrgico, en cuanto a la historia
que se desconocía del surgimiento de la profesión en la ciudad.
ABSTRAC
It arouses great interest in both students and teachers to know the origin and development of
surgical instrumentation at the local level, repairing every detail that has happened throughout
the history of the profession and knowing how was the training of those who began to work as
surgical instrumentation in the municipality of Valledupar. Recognizing these people, who have
collaborated in the development of this research. The objective of this research is to know the
historical development of the surgical instrumentation in the city of Valledupar. The
methodological design was carried out through a "phenomenological" interview focused on the
explanation of life stories. This research is qualitative, descriptive with a focus on life story. The
population under study are those people who are part of the historical journey of the Surgical
Instrumentation at the level of the city of Valledupar who wish to share their life experiences to
be told in this research. The sample for this study is composed of twelve nursing assistants of
which four died and of those eight only four were able to conduct the interview. Among the
results obtained are evidenced that the race is not as old as you can think because already in the
90s, the profession was being exercised by the different people who are part of the health área.
And the exercise of instrumentation at that time, helped in a way to forge and strengthen it for
what it is today for the knowledge provided thanks to the experience of those who had been
much longer in this work. Among the data obtained we find that the protocol used is the same
with some modifications and also the techniques of asepsis and antisepsis. We obtained relevant
data that generate interest in the student community and in the staff that make up the surgical
team, as for the unknown history of the emergence of the profession in the city.
