dc.description.abstractINTRODUCCIÓN: Los coronavirus son una familia de virus que causan enfermedades que van desde el resfriado común hasta enfermedades más graves, se transmite principalmente a través de las gotas generadas cuando una persona infectada tose, estornuda o espira. Se llevó a cabo este proyecto de investigación en instituciones de Salud en la ciudad de Valledupar en la Unidad de Cuidados Intensivos, en donde se evidenciaron las respuestas emocionales que tiene el personal de enfermería al cuidar pacientes que padecen COVID-19. OBJETIVO: Conocer las respuestas emocionales del enfermero/a que cuida paciente diagnosticados con covid-19, unidad de cuidados intensivos, instituciones de salud, Valledupar 2022-1. MATERIALES Y METODOS: estudio con enfoque cualitativo, tipo descriptivo, ya que gracias a esta metodología es posible comprender e interpretar la realidad, los sentimientos, los significados y las acciones de los enfermeros desde su propia visión lo que nos llevaría al cumplimiento del objetivo que es conocer las respuestas emocionales del enfermero frente al cuidado de pacientes con COVID-19, es decir, se van a observar las cualidades que tiene el sujeto de estudio. Se consideró un estudio de tipo descriptivo, buscando definir de manera sistemática, observar y descubrir la respuesta emocional del personal de enfermería, frente a la atención brindada a los pacientes que ingresan a la unidad de cuidados intensivos con COVID 19, sustentado por la teoría de inteligencia emocional de Daniel Goleman. Se utilizó una entrevista semi estructurada de 10 preguntas abiertas aplicadas a las enfermeras y enfermeros del servicio de instituciones de salud de la ciudad de Valledupar. RESULTADO: los enfermeros y enfermeras manifestaron haber presentado emociones positivas y negativas, siendo estas últimas en mayor proporción durante la atención a pacientes con Covid 19, afectando en gran medida su vida personal, familiar y social, sin embargo, expresan que con el pasar del tiempo han aprendido a manejar sus emociones y aunque algunos tienen secuelas, están más preparados física, teórica y sobre todo emocionalmente para enfrentar una situación similar a la ya vivida. CONCLUSION: la dimensión de la situación que se presente será la base principal para influir en el desarrollo interno y externo de cada individuo, según la experiencia y el conocimiento que se tenga sobre el manejo de ésta, será el grado de afectación física y emocional que se genere. Abstract INTRODUCTION: Coronaviruses are a family of viruses that cause illnesses ranging from the common cold to more serious diseases, transmitted mainly through droplets generated when an infected person coughs, sneezes or spits. This research project was carried out in health institutions in the city of Valledupar in the Intensive Care Unit, where the emotional responses that the nursing staff has when caring for patients suffering from COVID-19 were evidenced. OBJECTIVE: To know the emotional responses of nurses caring for patients diagnosed with covid-19, intensive care unit, health institutions, Valledupar 2022-1. MATERIALS AND METHODS: study with qualitative approach, descriptive type, since thanks to this methodology it is possible to understand and interpret the reality, feelings, meanings and actions of nurses from their own vision which would lead us to the fulfillment of the objective which is to know the emotional responses of the nurse when caring for patients with COVID-19, that is, the qualities that the subject of study has will be observed. A descriptive study was considered, seeking to systematically define, observe and discover the emotional response of the nursing staff to the care provided to patients admitted to the intensive care unit with COVID 19, supported by Daniel Goleman's emotional intelligence theory. A semi-structured interview of 10 open questions applied to nurses of the health institution service of the city of Valledupar was used. RESULT: the nurses stated that they had experienced positive and negative emotions, the latter being in greater proportion during the care of patients with Covid 19, affecting to a great extent their personal, family and social life; however, they express that with the passage of time they have learned to manage their emotions and although some have sequels, they are more prepared physically, theoretically and above all emotionally to face a situation similar to the one they have already experienced. CONCLUSION: the dimension of the situation that is presented will be the main basis for influencing the internal and external development of each individual, depending on the experience and knowledge that one has about the management of this, will be the degree of physical and emotional affectation that is generated.
