Conocimiento y uso de métodos anticonceptivos en estudiantes de enfermería de la Universidad Popular del Cesar, 2021-I

dc.description.abstractLos métodos anticonceptivos son herramientas que pueden usar tanto la mujer como el hombre con el fin de evitar embarazos no deseados o adquirir una Infección de Transmisión Sexual. El objetivo de este estudio fue determinar el conocimiento y uso de los métodos anticonceptivos de los estudiantes de enfermería de segundo semestre de la Universidad Popular del Cesar, 2021-I. Utilizando como metodología el enfoque cuantitativo, de tipo descriptivo y corte transversal, la muestra estuvo conformada por 27 estudiantes del programa de enfermería. Se usó un instrumento de 31 preguntas con base a la operacionalización de las variables, tipo cuestionario de selección múltiple, cerradas, basadas en el tema de investigación. Con relación a los resultados, se obtuvo que la mayoría de los estudiantes tienen edades entre 18 y 19 años, solteros (100%), de estrato uno (67%); cuentan con conocimientos sobre el concepto de métodos anticonceptivos (85%), conocen métodos anticonceptivos como las píldoras (100%) y el preservativo masculino (93%); por otro lado, la mayoría ha iniciado su vida sexual (59%), las edades más comunes en la que los mismos tuvieron su primera experiencia sexual fue a los 16, 17, 18 y 19 años en donde hay que destacar que el 75% de los alumnos usaron en ese momento un método anticonceptivo el cual fue el preservativo masculino (67%), dicho método hasta el momento es el preferido por el 75% de los encuestados; además, la mayoría de estudiantes actualmente no tienen vida sexual activa (63%) y manifiestan siempre usar métodos anticonceptivos (44%). Se puede concluir que los estudiantes tienen un alto conocimiento de los métodos anticonceptivos y hacen uso de estos para la prevención de embarazos no deseados o Infecciones de Transmisión Sexual. Abstract Contraceptive methods are tools that can be used by both women and men in order to avoid unwanted pregnancies or acquire a Sexually Transmitted Infection. The objective of this study was to determine the level of knowledge and use of contraceptive methods of nursing students in the second semester of the Popular University of Cesar, 2021-I. Using the quantitative, descriptive and cross-sectional approach as a methodology, the sample consisted of 27 nursing program students. An instrument of 31 questions was used based on the operationalization of the variables, multiple choice questionnaire type, closed, and based on the research topic. In relation to the results, it was found that the majority of the students are between 18 and 19 years old, single (100%), from stratum one (67%); they have knowledge about the concept of contraceptive methods (85%), they know contraceptive methods such as pills (100%) and the male condom (93%); on the other hand, the majority have started their sexual life (59%), the most common ages at which they had their first sexual experience was 16, 17, 18 and 19 years old, where it should be noted that 75% of the students used a contraceptive method at that time, which was the male condom (67%), said method so far is preferred by 75% of the respondents; In addition, the majority of students currently do not have an active sexual life (63%) and state that they always use contraceptive methods (44%). It can be concluded that students have a high level of knowledge regarding contraceptive methods and make use of these for the prevention of unwanted pregnancies or Sexually Transmitted Infections.
