dc.description.abstractEsta investigación tuvo como objetivo comparar las habilidades sociales de las abuelas cuidadoras con las características sociodemográficas en el barrio Amparo de Valledupar. Se midió la variable con la Escala de habilidades sociales de Goldstein del año 1978 adaptada por Ambrosio en 1994, la cual cuenta con un Alfa de Cronbach de 0.9244 que demuestra alta confiablidad del instrumento. Para la organización de datos se realizó una matriz con las características sociodemográficas solicitadas en el estudio. La investigación se enmarca en el enfoque cuantitativo, de tipo descriptivo-comparativo, de diseño no experimental, de corte transversal. La población fue seleccionada en su totalidad siendo 60 abuelas cuidadoras del barrio Amparo con edades comprendidas entre 50 y 75 años. El resultado obtenido demuestra que, en todas las dimensiones del instrumento aplicado, las abuelas cuidadoras tienen un deficiente y bajo nivel en sus habilidades sociales. De igual forma, al realizar las comparaciones de la variable con las características sociodemográficas, el resultado al aplicar la prueba para muestras relacionadas de Wilcoxon en el SPSS.25 se obtuvo significaciones asintóticas, mientras el nivel de significancia fue de ,000, lo cual permitió rechazar las hipótesis nulas establecidas. Abstract This research aimed to compare the social skills of the caregiving grandmothers with the sociodemographic characteristics in the Amparo de Valledupar neighborhood. The variable was measured with the Social Skills Scale from Goldstein in 1978 adapted by Ambrosio in 1994, which has a Cronbach's Alpha of 0.9244 that shows high reliability of the instrument. For the organization of data, a matrix was made with the sociodemographic characteristics requested in the study. The research is framed in the quantitative approach, descriptive-comparative type, of non-experimental cross-sectional design. The population was selected in its entirety, being 60 grandmother’s caregivers of the Amparo neighborhood with ages between 50 and 75 years. The result obtained shows that, in all the dimensions of the applied instrument, the caregiving grandmothers have a deficient and low level in their social skills. Similarly, when making the comparisons of the variable with the sociodemographic characteristics, the result when applying the Wilcoxon test for related samples in the SPSS.25 was obtained asymptotic significance, while the significance level was .000, which allowed reject the established null hypotheses.
