| dc.description.abstract | El cáncer es una de las enfermedades crónicas que afecta a una parte de la población colombiana, así al igual que otras enfermedades terminales genera cambios en las dinámicas familiares, ya que el diagnóstico no solo afecta al paciente sino también a la familia y en especial al cuidador que debe hacerse cargo del paciente, contribuyendo así a que se produzcan afectaciones en su salud física y mental. Por tanto, la presente monografía tiene como objetivo realizar una revisión sistemática sobre el estado de ánimo en cuidadores de pacientes oncológicos, con la finalidad de documentar más sobre las afectaciones psicológicas a nivel de la depresión que genera el cuidado de pacientes que padecen enfermedades catastróficas como el cáncer; partiendo del hecho de que estos, en la mayoría de los casos, son quienes adquieren toda aquella carga principal y total responsabilidad frente al cuidado del paciente oncológico. Es por esto que, para el presente trabajo se realizó una recopilación bibliográfica de artículos, tesis y revistas encontradas en los buscadores Google Scholar, Dialnet, Scielo, Repositorio, latindex, concernientes al tema de investigación. Así, se consideró que, son diversos los factores que pueden encontrarse inmersos en el proceso de aparición y desarrollo de una sintomatología como lo es la depresión en los cuidadores de pacientes oncológicos en Colombia, los cuales pueden llegar a obstruir o interferir el proceso de adaptación del diagnóstico del paciente enfermo y de asumir el papel de cuidado entre los cuales se pueden encontrar inmerso: la falta de recursos para sobrellevar la enfermedad, la escasa red de apoyo y atención que se le brindan a los cuidadores, la falta de mecanismos de afrontamiento, el estado de salud de los cuidadores entre otros; por lo que se considera importante que el fortalecimiento en cada una de estas áreas les permitirá a los cuidadores llevar a cabo de una mejor manera su labor y brindar mejores expectativas de sobre vida al paciente. Abstract Cancer is one of the chronic diseases that affects a part of the Colombian population, as well as other terminal illnesses, it generates changes in family dynamics, since the diagnosis not only affects the patient but also the family and especially the caregiver who must take care of the patient, thus contributing to affectations in their physical and mental health. Therefore, this monograph aims to carry out a systematic review on the state of mind in caregivers of cancer patients, in order to document more about the psychological affectations at the level of depression generated by the care of patients suffering from catastrophic illnesses such as cancer; starting from the fact that these, in most cases, are the ones who acquire all that main burden and total responsibility for the care of the oncological patient in Colombian. This is why, for the present work, a bibliographical compilation of articles, theses and journals found in the search engines Google Scholar, Dialnet, Scielo, Repository, Latindex, concerning the research topic. Thus, it was considered that there are several factors that may be involved in the process of appearance and development of symptoms such as depression in caregivers of cancer patients, which may obstruct or interfere with the process of adapting the diagnosis of the sick patient and of assuming the role of care among which can be found immersed: the lack of resources to cope with the disease, the scarce network of support and care provided to caregivers, the lack of coping mechanisms, the health status of caregivers among others; therefore, it is considered important that strengthening each of these areas will allow caregivers to carry out their work in a better way and provide better life expectancies for the patient.
