Abstract
La OMS define al VIH como un virus que infecta a las células del sistema inmunitario, alterando o anulando su función. Esta infección termina produciendo un deterioro progresivo y constante del sistema inmunitario. (OMS, 2020). El presente proyecto se desarrolló con el objetivo de describir la experiencia de afrontamiento del paciente diagnosticado con VIH, por medio de una entrevista semiestructurada en una institución pública de salud, en la ciudad de Valledupar durante el año 2021-1. Se enfocó en un tipo de estudio cualitativo caracterizado en la fenomenología hermenéutica, la cual se concentra en la interpretación de la experiencia humana. Se aborda el contexto emocional y conductual del individuo durante todo el proceso, de tal forma se evalúa el grado de acompañamiento de las redes de apoyo y contempla las estrategias de afrontamiento usados por el mismo paciente ante su enfermedad. Los resultados obtenidos en el estudio representan una pequeña parte del conjunto en general de pacientes convivientes con el virus.
Abstract
The WHO defines HIV as a virus that infects the cells of the immune system, altering or canceling their function. This infection ends up producing a progressive and constant deterioration of the immune system. (WHO, 2020). The present project was developed with the objective of describing the coping experience of the patient diagnosed with HIV, through a semi-structured interview in a public health institution, in the city of Valledupar during the year 2021-1. It focused on a type of qualitative study characterized in hermeneutic phenomenology, which focuses on the interpretation of human experience. The emotional and behavioral context of the individual is addressed throughout the process, in such a way that the degree of accompaniment of the support networks is evaluated and contemplates the coping strategies used by the same patient in the face of his illness. The results obtained in the study represent a small part of the general set of patients living with the virus.
