dc.description.abstractEsta investigación tuvo como objetivo principal evaluar la efectividad de la semilla de jatropha curca como coagulante natural en el tratamiento de potabilización del agua cruda del rio Guatapurí. Esta tesis pretende promover la utilización de extractos naturales de plantas para la potabilización del agua cruda del rio Guatapurí. Para la preparación del coagulante se realizó una serie de procesos que consistió en secado, molienda y licuado, luego se realizaron una serie de pruebas de jarras para observar el comportamiento del coagulante natural. La eficiencia del coagulante se determinó comparando la turbidez inicial con los valores finales obtenidos después de cada tratamiento. ABSTRACT. The main objective of this research was to evaluate the efficacy of jatropha curca seed as a natural coagulant in the purification treatment of raw water from the Guatapurí river. This thesis aims to promote the use of natural plant extracts for the purification of raw water from the Guatapurí river. For the preparation of the coagulant, a series of processes was carried out that consisted of drying, grinding and blending, then a series of jar tests were carried out to observe the behavior of the natural coagulant. The efficiency of the coagulant is prolonged by comparing the initial turbidity with the final values obtained after each treatment.
