dc.description.abstractLa recuperación de los ecosistemas depende de los esfuerzos del ser humano en procurar la protección, conservación de los bienes y servicios ambientales y el uso sostenible de los recursos naturales, considerando esto, se realizó la determinación del Potencial Ecológico del Complejo Cenagoso de Zapatosa, mediante la sumatoria de factores ponderados de variables correspondientes a los componentes físicos, bióticos y sociodinámicos, teniendo en cuenta las unidades cartográficas de los suelos, integridad ecológica, zonas inundables, cobertura vegetal, unidades taxónomicas del suelo, vocación del suelo, conflictos por uso del suelo, aprovechamiento del suelo, infraestructura vial y urbana, y las áreas de exploración y explotación minera y de hidrocarburos. Con la aplicación metodológica de esta investigación se logró clasificar el potencial ecológico en cinco clases, encontrando un área de 2480,64 hectáreas repartidas en noventa y nueve zonas de interés ambiental, porque son una ventana o una galería de relictos vegetativos que podrían conservar información primitiva y endémica para la determinación del valor y la calidad del Complejo Cenagoso de Zapatosa, por lo que brinda información para futuras investigaciones de campo encaminadas al diagnóstico, caracterización y recuperación de este importante ecosistema del Caribe colombiano. ABSTRACT The recovery of ecosystems depends on the efforts of human beings to ensure the protection, conservation of environmental goods and services and the sustainable use of natural resources, considering this, the determination of the Ecological Potential of the Cenagoso de Zapatosa Complex was carried out, through the sum of weighted factors of variables corresponding to the physical, biotic and sociodynamic components, taking into account the cartographic units of the soils, ecological integrity, floodplains, vegetation cover, taxonomic units of the soil, soil vocation, conflicts over land use , exploitation of economic land use, road and urban infrastructure, and mining and hydrocarbon exploration and exploitation areas. With the methodological application of this research, it was possible to classify the ecological potential into five classes, finding an area of 2480.64 hectares divided into ninety-nine areas of environmental interest, because they are a window or a gallery of vegetative relics that could preserve primitive information. and endemic for the determination of the value and quality of the “Humedals The Zapatosa” Complex, thus providing information for future field investigations aimed at the diagnosis, characterization and recovery of this important ecosystem of the Colombian Caribbean.
