dc.description.abstractLas secuelas faciales son producidas por diversas causas y estas afectan la parte funcional y estética del paciente; para su tratamiento se utilizan las prótesis de Peek o prótesis de Medpor, son dispositivos hechos a medida, sin embargo, en la aplicabilidad los resultados son realmente diferentes. Se realizó un estudio de caso con recolección de datos retrospectivos, de corte trasversal, donde se estudiaron dos pacientes, los resultados obtenidos se midieron mediante encuestas y la escala de liker, Los resultados demuestran que el paciente número uno, el cual fue reconstruido con prótesis Medpor presentando una lesión por un objeto contundente, no presento ningún tipo de complicaciones en su post-operatorio; sin embargo como secuela muestra una deformidad; el paciente numero dos quien fue reconstruido con prótesis Peek por causa de un accidente de tránsito, manifestó una infección como complicación post-operatoria y así mismo diversas secuelas como fistula y rechazo al implante. Teniendo en cuento los resultados obtenidos se puede concluir, que la prótesis Medpor tiene más aceptabilidad, pero menos funcionabilidad en la parte estética; situación contraria a la prótesis Peek, la cual, para este estudio de caso, demostró mejores resultados en la parte estética, pero con mayores posibilidades de rechazo al implante o complicaciones post operatorias. Abstract The facial sequels are produced by different causes and these affect the functional and aesthetic part of the patient; for its treatment, Peek prostheses or Medpor prostheses are used, they are made to measure devices, however, in the applicability the results are really different. A case study was conducted with retrospective data collection, cross-sectional, where two patients were studied, the results obtained were measured by surveys and the liker scale. The results show that the number one patient, which was reconstructed with prosthesis Medpor presenting a lesion due to a blunt object, I do not present any type of complications in its postoperative period; however as a sequel it shows a deformity; patient number two, who was reconstructed with a Peek prosthesis due to a traffic accident, showed an infection as a post-operative complication and also various sequelae such as fistula and rejection of the implant. Taking into account the results obtained, it can be concluded that the Medpor prosthesis has more acceptability, but less functionality in the aesthetic part; situation contrary to the Peek prosthesis, which, for this case study, showed better results in the aesthetic part, but with greater possibilities of rejection of the implant or post-operative complications.
