- ItemEstrategias lúdico-pedagógicas para el fortalecimiento de la educación socioambiental en la comunidad Calle Ancha de la cuidad de Valledupar(2026-05-21) Montero Beleño, M., Moscote Fontalvo, B., Palma, L., & Romero Munive, M. R.The course Human Ecology, integrated with the Extension and Social Outreach processes of the Universidad Popular del Cesar, promotes a critical and participatory understanding of the relationship between human beings and the ecosystem. Within this framework, a socio-environmental intervention was carried out in the Calle Ancha community, located in the Brisas de la Popa settlement in Valledupar, Colombia. The activity aimed to address local environmental issues and strengthen responsible solid waste management practices through playful and pedagogical strategies. The intervention began with the presentation of the student group and the explanation of the activity’s objectives, followed by a socialization process addressing the impacts of environmental pollution on health and the surrounding environment. Subsequently, an educational explanation was provided on proper solid waste separation and disposal. Interactive activities such as guiding questions, educational posters, and community dialogue spaces were implemented to encourage active participation. The session concluded with a collective reflection on the environmental challenges affecting the community and possible solutions based on community engagement. Photographic and documentary evidence was collected throughout the process. A total of nine participants were involved, including students, a professor, and community leaders. The experience highlighted the importance of environmental education as a key tool for fostering behavioral change and strengthening social cohesion around environmental care. It also demonstrated the direct relationship between human actions and ecosystem degradation from a Human Ecology perspective.
