Diseño De Una Cadena De Valor Sostenible Para El Sector Arrocero De Aguachica-Cesar, Bajo Principios De Bioeconomía.
    (2026) Mayerly Uribe Uribe
This study aims to design a sustainable value chain for the rice sector in Aguachica, Cesar, based on bioeconomy principles, in order to improve productivity, profitability, and environmental sustainability. The research arises from problems such as the inefficient use of natural resources, high production costs, low levels of technology, and the limited implementation of sustainable practice factors that affect the sector's competitiveness. The study employs a qualitative approach, with a descriptive and exploratory scope, primarily using document review as the analytical technique. This review identifies rice production processes and opportunities to integrate bioeconomy-based practices, such as the use of bio-inputs, the utilization of byproducts, and the incorporation of sustainable technologies. The results allow for the proposal of a value chain structure that optimizes each stage of the production process, from planting to marketing, promoting the efficient use of resources and reducing environmental impact. Furthermore, the financial viability of this proposal is assessed, highlighting its potential to generate higher incomes and strengthen the local economy. In conclusion, the implementation of a sustainable value chain based on bioeconomy represents a viable alternative for the development of the rice sector in Aguachica, contributing to economic growth, productive innovation, and the sustainability of the region.
