    ACTUALIZACION E IMPLEMENTACION DEL PLAN DE GESTION INTEGRAL DE RESIDUOS GERERADOS EN LA ATENCION EN LA SALUD Y OTRAS ACTIVIDADES (PGIRASA), EN LA E.S.E. HOSPITAL SANTO TOMAS DE VILLANUEVA, LA GUAJIRA

    La E.S.E. Hospital Santo Tomas de Villanueva en La Guajira se dedica al desarrollo social del municipio a través del conocimiento en salud, generando residuos sólidos y líquidos que requieren tratamiento para prevenir la contaminación ambiental y proteger la salud pública. Para cumplir con las regulaciones colombianas sobre la gestión de residuos de atención en salud y otras actividades, se debe actualizar e implementar un Plan de Gestión Integral de Residuos. En este informe refleja la aplicación de conocimientos universitarios en la práctica durante el período de prácticas en la ESE Hospital Santo Tomas. Incluye una descripción de problemas, justificación, objetivos, marco referencial, metodología, actividades realizadas, conclusiones y recomendaciones. Asimismo, se identifican problemas en la institución y se establecen objetivos específicos y generales, respaldando el trabajo durante las prácticas. Los datos generales de la institución proporcionan un contexto legal y características relevantes. En cuanto a la metodología, describe los procedimientos, cronogramas y presupuesto utilizados para alcanzar los objetivos. El diagnóstico evalúa la gestión interna, incluyendo generación, recolección, almacenamiento y disposición de residuos, así como la infraestructura y tipo de residuos. Por último, en las conclusiones y recomendaciones, se evalúan los logros obtenidos en la práctica y se resalta la necesidad de actualizar el Plan de Gestión Integral de Residuos para cumplir con la legislación colombiana, lo que implica formular programas que faciliten su implementación. Este informe demuestra el compromiso institucional con la gestión responsable de residuos y su importancia para la protección del medio ambiente y la salud de la comunidad. ABSTRACT The E.S.E. Hospital Santo Tomás de Villanueva in La Guajira is committed to the social development of the municipality through health knowledge, generating solid and liquid waste that requires treatment to prevent environmental pollution and protect public health. To comply with Colombian regulations on the management of healthcare and other activity-related waste, it is necessary to update and implement a Comprehensive Waste Management Plan. This report reflects the application of university knowledge in practice during the internship period at E.S.E. Hospital Santo Tomás. It includes a description of problems, justification, objectives, theoretical framework, methodology, activities carried out, conclusions, and recommendations. It also identifies institutional problems and establishes specific and general objectives, supporting the work conducted during the internship. General information about the institution provides legal context and relevant characteristics. Regarding the methodology, it describes the procedures, schedules, and budget used to achieve the objectives. The diagnosis evaluates internal management, including the generation, collection, storage, and disposal of waste, as well as the infrastructure and types of waste. Finally, in the conclusions and recommendations, the achievements obtained during the internship are evaluated, and the need to update the Comprehensive Waste Management Plan to comply with Colombian legislation is highlighted. This involves formulating programs that facilitate its implementation. This report demonstrates the institution's commitment to responsible waste management and its importance for protecting the environment and community health.
