Resumen
La presente investigación se centra en reconocer la dinámica de asociación entre la autoestima y el rendimiento académico en estudiantes de noveno grado de la Institución Educativa Andrés Escobar Escobar de la Ciudad de Valledupar, al identificar el nivel de autoestima e indicar el rendimiento académico por áreas de los estudiantes, se trata de un estudio de enfoque cuantitativo, alcance correlacional, transversal, con diseño no experimental, de campo.
Se tomó una muestra representativa conformada por ciento dos (102) educandos; se aplicó el Inventario de Autoestima de Stanley Coopersmith, (2006), obteniendo como resultados del análisis de datos e interpretación que existe una correlación significativa de esa medición con el rendimiento: entre mayor autoestima escolar normal se espera alto rendimiento académico, pues cuando el estudiante tiene la capacidad de reconocer referencias auto descriptivas positivas y confía en sus capacidades escolares, hay altos porcentajes de desempeño en áreas como Ciencias Sociales, Área de Ciencias Naturales, Área de Lenguaje y el Área Integradas (religión, ética y valores, artística).
Abstract
This research focuses on determining Self-Esteem and Academic Performance in Ninth Grade Students of the Andrés Escobar Escobar Educational Institution of the City of Valledupar, by identifying the level of self-esteem and Indicating the academic performance by areas of the students, it is a quantitative approach study, correlational, cross-sectional, non-experimental, field scope.
Whose representative sample was made up of one hundred and two (102) students, was chosen as a Stanley Coopersmith Self-Esteem Inventory instrument (2006), obtaining as results of the data analysis and interpretation that the students that exist a significant correlation between higher normal school self-esteem High academic performance is obtained when the student has the ability to recognize positive self-descriptive references, trust their academic abilities with high percentages of performance in areas such as Social Sciences, Natural Sciences Area, Language Area and Integrated Area.
