Abstract
This project aims to create arrangements of traditional Vallenato songs in choral format without losing the essence of the genre. The research is based on the lack of choral proposals in
the city of Valledupar, which is why it is generally sung by a soloist accompanied by an instrumental group. A qualitative approach is used, using the research-creation method to
develop the arrangements of the selected songs: Jaime Molina, tell me bird and my poetry was born. The arrangements respect the structure with the characteristics of vallenato, adapting it to the choral format, with soprano, alto, tenor and bass voices. Through this work we seek to motivate choral practice in the vallenato genre and also contribute to the preservation of the
genre.

Este proyecto tiene el objetivo de la creaciĆ³n de arreglos de canciones tradicionales vallenatas a formato coral sin perder la esencia del gĆ©nero. La investigaciĆ³n parte de la falta de
propuestas corales en la ciudad de Valledupar que generalmente son cantados por un solista acompaƱado de un grupo instrumental. Se emplea un enfoque cualitativo, utilizando el mĆ©todo de investigaciĆ³n-creaciĆ³n para desarrollar los arreglos de las canciones seleccionadas: Jaime Molina, Dime pajarito y NaciĆ³ mi poesĆa. Los arreglos respetan la estructura caracterĆstica del vallenato, adaptĆ”ndolo a un formato coral con las voces soprano, alto, tenor y bajo. A travĆ©s de este trabajo se busca motivar la prĆ”ctica coral en el gĆ©nero vallenato y de igual forma aportar con la preservaciĆ³n del gĆ©nero.
