    Cuidados alternativos y complementarios brindados por enfermería a pacientes de la unidad de vida del Hospital Rosario Pumarejo de López en 2023

    Si bien es cierto en las unidades mentales los pacientes con afecciones mentales reciben sus respectivos tratamientos para sus enfermedades, en la actualidad se han encontrado diversos cuidados, prácticas, terapias y actividades que el personal de enfermería puede implementar para mejorar la atención en salud de éstos, por ello el presente trabajo lleva como objetivo determinar los cuidados alternativos y complementarios que se le brindan a los pacientes de la unidad de vida del Hospital Rosario Pumarejo de López en la ciudad de Valledupar en el año 2023. En la siguiente investigación se observará un enfoque cuantitativo, de tipo descriptivo, no experimental y con un diseño de corte transversal en el cual se implementó un cuestionario como instrumento metodológico dónde se indagó sobre la caracterización sociodemográfica, los conocimientos, aplicación, beneficios y efectos adversos de los cuidados alternativos y complementarios que los pacientes de una unidad mental pueden presentar, dicho instrumento se le realizó al personal de enfermería debido a que, es el equipo encargado de realizar los cuidados a los pacientes. Dentro de la investigación se descubrió que el personal de enfermería cuenta con los conocimientos y reconoce cuáles son los cuidados alternativos y complementarios que se le pueden realizar a los pacientes psiquiátricos, sin embargo la institución dónde se realizó el estudio no proporciona autorización al personal directo de enfermería a realizar dichos cuidados, por lo que se hacen recomendaciones sobre el tema justificando la importancia y los beneficios que pueden tener los pacientes si los cuidados alternativos y complementarios son realizados por el equipo de enfermería, teniendo en cuenta, el lenguaje estandarizado que otorgan las taxonomías y que en una de ellas están descritos dichos cuidados. Although it is true that in mental units psychiatric patients receive their respective treatments for their illnesses, various care, practices, therapies and activities have currently been found that nursing staff can implement to improve their health care, for example. Therefore, the objective of this work is to determine the alternative and complementary care provided to patients in the life unit of the Rosario Pumarejo de López Hospital in the city of Valledupar. The present research has a quantitative approach, descriptive, non-experimental and with a cross-sectional design in which a questionnaire was implemented as a methodological instrument where the sociodemographic characterization, knowledge, application, benefits and adverse effects of the alternative and complementary care that patients in a mental unit may present, this instrument was carried out for the nursing staff because it is the team in charge of providing care to the patients. Within the research it was discovered that the nursing staff has the knowledge and recognizes what alternative and complementary care can be provided to psychiatric patients, however the institution where the study was carried out does not provide authorization to the direct staff of nursing to perform such care, so recommendations are made on the subject justifying its importance and the benefits that patients may have if alternative and complementary care are performed by the nursing team taking into account the standardized language provided by the taxonomies and that In one of them, said care is described.
