    PLAN DE CONTIGENCIAS PARA EL MANEJO DE RESIDUOS PELIGROSOS EN LA EMPRESA RADIOLOGIA E IMÁGENES SAS MUNICIPIO DE VALLEDUPAR-CESAR

    Los residuos hospitalarios corresponden a los residuos solidos generados por las entidades de salud, producidos por el generador con alguna de las siguientes características: infecciosos, combustibles, inflamables, explosivos, reactivos, radiactivos, volátiles, corrosivos y/o tóxicos; los cuales pueden causar daño a la salud humana y/o al medio ambiente. La empresa RADIOLOGIA E IMÁGENES SAS presenta fallas en el plan de contingencia para el manejo de sus residuos sólidos, de modo que se está generando un aumento en la propagación de vectores que causan problemas en la población interna y externa. Las practicas académicas tuvieron por objeto formular el Plan de contingencias para el manejo de Residuos peligrosos en la empresa RADIOLOGIA E IMÁGENES SAS municipio de Valledupar-Cesar, por medio de tres fases: realizar la evisión Ambiental Inicial de la Gestión y Manejo de los Residuos Peligrosos; evaluar el Riesgo en las actividades de Gestión y Manejo de Residuos Peligrosos mediante NTC 5254 de 2004 en la empresa y finalmente, actualizar los Procedimientos básicos de respuesta a emergencias por el manejo de Residuos Peligrosos generados en las actividades realizadas en la institución. El Plan de Contingencia forma parte integral del Plan de Gestión Integral de Residuos Hospitalarios y Similares, contempló las medidas para situaciones de emergencia por manejo de residuos hospitalarios y similares. Se estableció un programa de capacitación que contiene los procesos relacionados con la Gestión Integral de Residuos, enfocado principalmente al manejo y segregación de los residuos, recolección, transporte interno enseñándoles la ruta sanitaria, desactivación y plan de contingencia. Con el fin de garantizar el cumplimiento de los programas, se establecen los mecanismos y procedimientos que permiten evaluar el estado de ejecución del Plan y realizar los ajustes pertinentes. Palabras claves: Gestión integral de residuos sólidos, residuos peligrosos, riesgo a la salud ABSTRACT Hospital waste refers to the solid waste generated by healthcare entities, produced by the generator with one or more of the following characteristics: infectious, combustible, flammable, explosive, reactive, radioactive, volatile, corrosive, and/or toxic; which can cause harm to human health and/or the environment. The company RADIOLOGIA E IMÁGENES SAS has deficiencies in its contingency plan for managing solid waste, leading to an increase in the spread of vectors that cause problems for both internal and external populations. The academic practices aimed to formulate the Contingency Plan for the management of hazardous waste at RADIOLOGIA E IMÁGENES SAS, located in the municipality of Valledupar-Cesar, through three phases: conducting the Initial Environmental Review of the Management and Handling of Hazardous Waste; assessing the Risk in hazardous waste management activities using NTC 5254 of 2004 within the company; and finally, updating the basic emergency response procedures for handling hazardous waste generated by the institution’s activities. The Contingency Plan is an integral part of the Comprehensive Management Plan for Hospital and Similar Waste, and includes measures for emergency situations related to the handling of hospital and similar waste. A training program was established that covers processes related to Comprehensive Waste Management, mainly focused on the handling and segregation of waste, internal collection and transport (teaching the sanitary route), deactivation, and the contingency plan. To ensure compliance with the programs, mechanisms and procedures were established to evaluate the implementation status of the Plan and make the necessary adjustments.
